BYOV (Bring Your Own Video) allows you to use your own content, such as music videos, behind-the-scenes clips, or fan content, when creating campaign creatives.

This gives you more control over how your track is visually represented.

What BYOV allows you to do

  • Upload your own videos directly to Creative Studio and Paid Growth

  • Combine your videos with Soundlink's video library creatives

  • Maintain consistent branding.

Your uploaded videos will appear in Creative Studio → My Uploads, where you can select them just like any other creative.

How to upload your own video

Follow these steps to upload a video:

  1. Go to the My Videos (Beta) tab

  2. Click Add video

Creative Studio interface showing music selection and video upload options for social media content creation.
  3. Select your video file from your device

  4. Wait for the upload and processing to complete

  5. Your video will appear in My Uploads.

Processing usually takes a few minutes depending on file size.

Video requirements

To ensure smooth campaign performance, uploaded videos must follow these limits:

  • File format: MP4

  • Maximum file size: 50MB

  • Aspect Ratio: 9:16 (eg. 1080x1920 or 720x1280)

  • Recommended video length: 15 seconds

  • Maximum uploads per day: 10 videos

  • Maximum storage per organization: 1GB

Videos outside these limits may fail to upload.

Best practices

When preparing your own video, keep in mind that several interface and campaign elements may appear on top of it when shown in audience feeds.

  • Soundlink captions
Unless you remove the Soundlink Caption, it appears in the top third of the video. Avoid placing important visual elements or text in that area.

  • Soundlink CTA on paid campaigns
Paid Growth campaigns display a "Listen now on Spotify" badge. Keep the lower portion of the video clear so this element does not cover key visuals.

  • Social platform interface elements
TikTok and Instagram add interface elements on the right side and bottom of the screen (likes, comments, profile info). Avoid placing text, faces, or important visuals near these edges.

  • Keep key content centered
If your video includes text, faces, or other important elements, position them toward the center of the frame to ensure they remain visible after overlays appear.

Things to know

  • Uploaded videos are processed and stored securely before becoming available in Creative Studio.

  • Videos may take a few minutes to appear after uploading.

  • If a video fails to upload, try reducing the file size or ensuring it is in MP4 format.
