Other Settings holds the switches that apply to your whole company rather than to 1 project: what every project must carry, how orders behave, tax handling, branding and notifications.
Before you start
You need the Admin role. Purchasers can open the tab and read it, but every switch is greyed out for them.
Changes apply to everyone at your company as soon as you save.
Steps
Click your name in the top navigation bar, then Company Settings.
Open the Other Settings tab.
Choose a section, such as General or Project Configuration.
Turn a switch on or off.
Click Save Changes.
The sections
General: company-wide switches, including Public Order Form, Tax Codes, Vendor Pricing Lock, Require Attachment for Delivery Log and Block Concurrent Editing.
Order Configuration: the defaults applied to new orders.
Project Configuration: what someone must fill in when they create a project.
Company Information: your company's details and logo. This is the default name for the section and your company may have renamed it.
Notifications: which emails SubBase sends.
Mobile: settings for the mobile app.
Two worth knowing
Block Concurrent Editing stops a second person editing an order that someone already has open. It is on unless someone at your company turned it off, and you can turn it off yourself.
Lock Vendor When Editing appears only while Block Concurrent Editing is on. It extends the same lock to the vendor, so they cannot act on an order while your team is editing it.
Notes and limits
The Project Configuration switches are requirements for creating a project. They include Require Project ID, Require Project Address, Require Order Watcher and Require Invoice Assignee, and each is off unless someone turned it on.
SubBase does not keep a history of settings changes, so there is no record of what was changed or by whom.
Best practices
Turn on the Project Configuration requirements before your team creates projects. They are checked when a project is created, so projects that already exist keep whatever they were saved with.
Save before you leave the Other Settings tab. 1 Save Changes covers all 6 sections, and nothing warns you on the way out, so unsaved switches are lost without a prompt.
Decide on Block Concurrent Editing with your team rather than per person. Turning it off to unblock 1 order removes the lock for everyone until someone turns it back on.
