If you manage several Taplio accounts within the same organization (for example, as an agency), you may want to access more than one of them through ChatGPT using MCP. By default, a single MCP connector only gives ChatGPT access to the Taplio account it was originally connected to — but you can set up an additional connector for each extra account you need.
Why this happens
A single MCP connector is tied to one Taplio account only. Managing multiple accounts through that same connector isn't currently supported. To access another account, you need to create a separate connector for it.
How to set up an additional connector
Go to chatgpt.com/apps
Click the Settings icon in the top right
Click Advanced Settings
Activate Developer mode, if it isn't already active
Click Create App
Set the Custom Name (for example, "Taplio2") and the Connection URL to
https://mcp.taplio.comCheck the "I understand and I want to continue" box
Click Create
Click Sign in with Taplio
Log in to Taplio with the email of the account you want to connect, then click Allow
Repeat this process for each additional Taplio account you want to connect.
Working with multiple connectors
Once you have more than one connector set up, give each one a clear, distinguishable name so you can tell them apart when prompting ChatGPT — for example, "Nikola Taplio" and "Nemanja Taplio."
When asking ChatGPT to perform an action, specify which connector to use in your prompt, for example:
"Use Nikola Taplio and draft me a post about [topic]"
This ensures the action is carried out on the correct account.
Note for Claude users
This same workflow is not currently supported in Claude. Claude blocks adding a second custom connector that points to the same MCP server URL, even if you give it a different name, so setting up a "Taplio2" connector alongside your existing Taplio connector (both pointing to https://mcp.taplio.com) will fail with a duplicate error.
This is a known limitation, and there's an open request asking Anthropic to allow multiple connectors with the same server URL as long as the connector name is unique. It hasn't shipped yet, so for now, Claude users managing multiple Taplio accounts in the same org can't do this via MCP the way ChatGPT users can. This is a platform limitation on Claude's end, not something specific to Taplio, and we'll update this article if that changes.
