Part 9: What Happens After You Submit
After you submit Section 1, your employer will:
• Review your submitted information, selfie, and document images in their employer portal.
• Conduct an in-person or video call inspection of your original physical documents, as required by federal law.
• Complete and sign Section 2 of the Form I-9 on their end.
You may be contacted by your employer or their Authorized Representative to arrange the document inspection if it has not already taken place.
📌 The physical document inspection is a federal requirement that cannot be skipped, even when ZipID is used. Your employer must view your original documents in person or via live video call.
Once your employer completes Section 2, the Form I-9 process is complete. You do not need to take any further action.
