Part 2: What You Will Need Before You Start
Before you begin, gather the documents you will use to complete your I-9. You will need either:
Option A — One document from List A (proves both identity and work authorization), such as:
• U.S. Passport or U.S. Passport Card
• Permanent Resident Card (Green Card)
• Employment Authorization Document (EAD) with photo
2. Option B — One document from List B (identity) AND one from List C (work authorization), such as:
• List B: U.S. Driver License or State ID Card (front and back, unexpired)
• List C: Social Security Card, or U.S. birth certificate
