Setting a deadline is an effective tool that helps increase learners’ motivation and performance. A time limit creates a sense of responsibility, encourages planning, and helps students complete lessons without delays.
To help learners stay on track and achieve their goals, you can set a deadline for completing a course. To do this, open Settings by clicking the three dots:
Go to the Deadline tab:
On this page, you can choose from three types of deadlines: No deadline, Due date, or Days.
The “Due date” type allows learners to take the course until a specific date. To configure it, select this option and set the required date:
The “Days” type allows learners to complete the course within a certain period. The countdown begins from the moment the learner starts the course. To set it up, choose this deadline type and enter the required number of days:
After the deadline expires, learners will no longer be able to access the course. If you want learners to continue studying even after the deadline, you can enable the Soft deadline option. After configuring all settings, click Save.
If a learner completes the course after the deadline, this will be reflected in the learner's profile and in the statistics. “Expired” label will appear:
If you have set the “Days” deadline type and flexible deadline is not enabled, you can reset the deadline in the individual learner's profile by clicking “Reset deadline”. After that, the learner will again have n days to complete the course.
From the administrator's side, the course deadline is displayed as follows:
From the learner's side, the deadline will appear like this:
