One of the biggest time-savers in Acelab is the ability to copy products from the Firm Library or a project into another project. Research has shown that about 73% of the products used on one project, are used on another, so let's learn how to make this easy for your firm.
Note: You will need to have created the project you will be copying products to before going through the below steps. To learn about how to create a project, click here. Once you have created the project, add in your collaborators and ensure they have the correct permissions.
Selecting Products
Navigate to the category that you desire to copy products from. For example, let's copy and paste products within the Sealants and Joints category.
Once you have selected the category that you would like to copy products from, it is time to select the products. Ensure you have the correct view selected prior to selecting products. Then navigate to the far left column where you see the number to the left of the product name.
Hovering over the number on the left, the number will change to a box, click into the box to select it. Continue clicking through the products that you need to copy to the next project.
Once you have made your selection, it's time to copy them into your latest project.
Copying Products
Navigate to the top right and select the three-dot icon furthest to the right.
Once this has been selected, a drop-down will show, select the only option: 'Copy Product to Project'.
Once selected, the drop-down will adjust to show different projects. The projects order will have General Research at the top and then followed by the projects ordered from latest to newest.
Before selecting the project, toggle on 'Copy Custom Data' if you would like all the custom fields to copy over to the next project as well. Once you have decided to toggle this on or off, then select the project you will be copying the information to. By toggling 'Copy custom data' on, not only will custom fields be copied over but any information entered in those fields will also come over.
