If you see a message in your Acenda admin panel that says, "Orders Need Attention: There are currently X orders for SKUs that do not exist in our system. Add missing SKUs or review aliases," it means that an order has been placed for a product with a SKU that doesn't match any of the products currently in your Acenda system.
This can happen for a few reasons:
A new product was listed on a sales channel, but has not yet been created in Acenda.
The SKU on the sales channel does not precisely match the SKU in Acenda. For example, the marketplace SKU might be "ABC-123" while the Acenda SKU is just "123".
The SKU value of an existing item was changed. This is highly discouraged as it can break the connection between Acenda and your marketplace listings. For more information, please read our article: Can I Change SKU Values for My Marketplace Listings?
The SKU was created by a previous Channel Partner. If you have recently switched to Acenda, some SKUs from your old system may not yet exist in Acenda.
To fix this and process your orders, you have two options.
Option 1: Create a new product
If the SKU belongs to a product that is not yet in your Acenda system, you will need to create it in the system. Once the product is created with the matching SKU, the order will be able to sync. This is often the correct solution if the SKU was from a previous Channel Partner.
For a step-by-step guide on how to create new products in your admin panel, please see this article: Creating New Products Using the Admin Panel.
Option 2: Create a SKU alias
If the SKU from the sales channel is just a variation of a SKU that already exists in Acenda for the same product, you can create an alias. An alias connects an external marketplace SKU to your internal Acenda SKU. This tells our system that they are the same product, allowing the order to be processed without creating a duplicate item. This is also a valid solution for SKUs created by a previous partner if the product already exists in Acenda under a different SKU.
For instructions on how to set up an alias, please refer to this guide: Understanding Aliases: Connecting External IDs with Acenda for Seamless Marketplace Integration
By either creating the missing product or adding an alias, you can quickly resolve this error and ensure your orders are processed smoothly.
