What is Duet, and how and when to complete it

Updated this week

Duet is a value-alignment assessment that compares what you value in a program with what the program has to offer.

Duet is only required by a select few US and Canadian programs. If your program(s) of interest require Duet, then you will have access to the assessment after adding the program(s) to your distribution list. You can also refer to our Dates and Fees page or the individual program(s) website(s) to confirm whether Duet is a requirement for your application(s).

You can complete Duet anytime after reserving your Casper test, but it is recommended that you complete it within 14 days of taking Casper. This will ensure that all components of your Acuity Insights Assessments are available together to be considered by your program(s), if they are an admissions requirement as per the program website(s). Should individual program requirements change, you will still be able to complete Duet at any time before your earliest program distribution deadline, as shown on the Dates and Fees page.

Your recommended deadline will be listed in the Duet section of your Acuity Insights account, but you will still be able to access it after that date.

Completing Multiple Duet Assessments:

In certain cases, you may be required to complete multiple Duet assessments, depending on the specific Casper test(s) you are registered for. Different program types often have distinct Duet assessments. For instance, programs requiring Casper for US Medicine (CSP-10111) or US Professional Health Sciences (CSP-10101) may each have their own associated Duet assessment. It is essential to carefully review the requirements of each program you are applying to and ensure you complete all necessary Duet assessments.

To complete the correct Duet, you must select the appropriate test type from the dropdown menu on your homepage after signing in. In the example screenshot below, the "US - Medicine" option is displayed for illustration purposes.

Your Duet results are only distributed to the programs on your distribution list that require Duet.

Casper results will be sent to programs 2-3 weeks after your test, regardless of whether Duet has been completed.

Please visit our About Duet page for tips on completing Duet.
