How do I get ready on the day of my Casper test?

Preparing for test day

Updated this week

Preparing properly on test day is essential to avoid delays or technical issues.

1. Complete a System Requirements Check (Mandatory)

You must run the System Requirements Check within six hours before your scheduled test time.

  • This tool checks if your webcam, microphone, browser, and internet connection are working properly.

  • You can find the System Requirements Check on the Reservations or Casper homepage in your Acuity Insights account.

  • Be sure to run this check using the same device, internet connection, and setup you plan to use for the test.

2. Use a Supported Browser

Only Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox are supported for Casper.

Make sure your browser is updated to the latest version:

Download Chrome | Firefox

3. Prepare Your Computer

To avoid technical problems during your test:

  • Restart your computer

  • Close all other programs (e.g., Skype, Zoom)

  • Use an incognito/private window (if needed)

  • Disable firewalls or pop-up blockers

  • Turn off all browser extensions (e.g., Grammarly)

  • Deactivate any VPN if you're using one

4. Log In Early

Log in to your Acuity Insights account about 30 minutes before your scheduled test time to get settled and ready.

5. Check Your Webcam & Microphone

Your webcam and microphone are required for the Casper test for both:

  • Identity verification and proctoring

  • Recording video responses in the first section of the test

Make sure your webcam is:

  • On

  • Uncovered

  • Facing you directly

…for the entire duration of the test.
