Auto-Optimization for Popunder Campaigns

In the AdProfex advertiser’s dashboard, a new tool is now available for the Popunder format — Auto-Optimization. This feature helps automatically block underperforming sites, making your campaigns more profitable.

How does Auto-Optimization work?

The advertiser sets two parameters:

  1. Spend threshold for blocking a site — once the site’s spend exceeds this limit, it will be added to the Blacklist. It’s recommended to set this value at least 2× higher than your target CPA.

  2. Maximum allowed CPA per site — the upper CPA limit for a site. It’s recommended to set this 30–50% higher than your target CPA.

Every 5 minutes, the algorithm checks all sites in your campaign and automatically adds to the BL those that match the blocking criteria (if actual spend on the site exceeds the threshold and its CPA is higher than the set limit).

Important notes:

  • CPA is calculated based on the current actual CR and CPC, so when you change CPC, the list of blocked sites may also change.

  • Once you enable Auto-Optimization, you cannot manually edit the Blacklist.

  • If you experience issues with your landing page (blocking, tracking errors, or broken conversion tracking), good sites may be mistakenly added to the BL. In this case, we recommend:

    • creating a new campaign, or

    • contacting your account manager to recover mistakenly blocked sites.
