Managing Your Source Library

Find, upload, search, and delete company documents in Aether.

Before creating a new output, make sure your Source Library is up to date. Aether processes your uploaded files quickly and stores them securely so you can use them as inputs whenever you need.

Connect sources such as Microsoft SharePoint or Google Drive to Aether to maintain an up-to-date source repository. For now, source files can be uploaded manually in batches.


Viewing Sources In Your Library

  • Toggle layout (top-right of the Sources page): switch between tiles and list view.

  • Open a source: click a file to load it as a PDF in your browser (currently only for PDF format).

  • More actions: hover a source and click ••• to download the full file.


Searching & Sorting

  • Use the top search bar to find sources by name.

  • Sort by name or by upload recency.



Uploading Sources

You can upload up to ~100 documents at a time (batch upload).

To upload:

  1. Click Upload documents.

  2. Drag and drop files, or click to browse your computer.

  3. Files show “in progress” while processing, then “ready” when available to use.

Accepted File Types

Aether supports a wide range of formats, including:

  • Microsoft PowerPoint: .ppt, .pptx

  • Microsoft Word: .doc, .docx

  • Adobe: .pdf

  • Images: .jpg, .png, .tiff, .svg

  • Microsoft Excel: .xls, .xlsx, .csv

  • Markdown: .md

Aether upload capabilities:

  • Supports files up to 20 MB

  • Up to 100 tables per file

  • 10,000-cell tables (e.g. 10 columns x 1,000 rows)

  • Handles many sheets per file

The Aether team is constantly working on processing increasingly complex tabular files to minimise the reformatting required prior to uploading.

Source Status Badges

  • Green (Ready): Source is successfully uploaded, disaggregated, and loaded into Aether’s vector database ready for use.

  • Yellow (In Progress): Still being processed (typically 10 seconds–2 minutes, depending on size/format). If a file stays in progress for >5 minutes, contact help@theaether.co

  • Red (On Hold or Failed): File is too large or there's another upload issue (often with large/complex Excel files).


Deleting sources from your library

Deleting a source removes the file and all processed content from your Aether database instance.

  1. Select the source.

  2. Click Delete (top-right).

  3. Confirm deletion.
