Setting Up Try-On for Products with Colour Variants

Let shoppers try on different colour variants of the same product, switching between them in their try-on result.

Good news, virtual try-on works across colour variants of the same product! Once your product has its colours set up in Shopify, shoppers can see themselves in one colour and switch to another right in their try-on result. Best of all, there's nothing to configure inside AI Frame, it detects your variants automatically. Here's how to set your product up:

Step 1: Set up your colour variants in Shopify

This all happens in your normal Shopify product setup:

  1. In your Shopify admin, open the product you'd like to set up.

  2. Select Add options like size or colour, then choose Colour.

  3. Click Add variant and define each colour.

  4. For each colour variant, select the image that matches that colour, so the right product image is linked to the right variant.

  5. Enter the price and quantity for each variant.

  6. Click Save.

šŸ’” A little tip: make sure each colour variant has its own matching image, that's what lets the try-on show the correct colour when a shopper switches between them.

Step 2: That's it, AI Frame does the rest

There's no extra setup inside the app. AI Frame automatically detects your product's variants and shows them in the try-on. When a shopper chooses a colour, it renders the try-on for that variant on the spot.
