Noticed your try-on button has gone after updating or switching your theme? Don't worry, nothing's broken and your settings are safe. This is a common Shopify quirk: when you update or change a theme, the app embed that powers the button sometimes needs to be switched back on.
Here's how to fix it in a couple of minutes:
Why this happens
When you install or update a Shopify theme, it doesn't automatically carry over the app embeds from your previous theme. AI Frame's try-on button lives inside an app embed, so when the new theme takes over, the embed can switch off and the button disappears with it. Turning it back on brings everything straight back.
The fix
The quickest way is to re-check your theme inside the app itself:
In your Shopify admin, go to Apps → AI Frame – Virtual Try-On.
On the dashboard, find the Choose a theme step.
Make sure your current (published) theme is selected, and confirm it.
This re-links the try-on button to the theme you're now using. Open a product page and check that Try On is back on the first product image.
Still not showing? Re-enable the app embed
If the button's still missing, the app embed may have switched off during the theme change. Here's how to turn it back on:
In your Shopify admin, go to Online Store → Themes.
On your current theme, click Customize.
Click the App embeds icon (the puzzle piece) in the bottom-left.
Find AI Frame – Virtual Try-On and toggle it on.
Click Save.
Check it worked
Open a product page and look for Try On on the first product image. Tap it to make sure the widget opens.
💡 A quick way to confirm: open Virtual Try-On in the app's left menu - the Embed status section at the top shows a green "Active on your storefront" badge when everything's connected.
