There are multiple ways of adding absence to people. You can add absence through the absence page, schedule calendar or directly on the person’s profile. This article will explain all the ways of adding absences to the system.

Absence Page

  1. Click on “+ Add Absence”.

2. A dialogue box will appear. Enter the staff name and select a name from the search results.

3. Select absence type.

4. Select the date range and add comments.

When you enter a staff name, it will automatically show the number of total absences available, the number of taken absences, and the remaining absences.

As this absence was created by the admin, it does not need approval. When you click on Save, it will automatically appear as “Approved”.

Adding absence on Schedule Calendar

To add absence from the schedule calendar:

  1. Go to the list of staff names and click on the down arrow in front of the staff name.

2. Select Add Absence from the drop-down menu options.

3. The “Create absence” form will open in a dialogue box. (As we are creating this absence directly on the employee the name, it will be automatically populated).

4. Select the absence type, select the time range, and add comments. Click on save.

You can see the absence is created on the person's row.

Adding absence on employee profile

You can add an absence directly on the employee profile. While on the schedule calendar, you can go to a staff profile by clicking on the down arrow in front of the employee’s name and clicking on “view profile”. Alternatively, you can go to the staff list and click on the actions button on the person's row and select edit.

On the employee profile page, click on the three dots in the absence section and select Add absence. The same form will open. Follow the procedure and click on save. You can see the newly added absence on the absence calendar as well as on the list.

Adding absence from the List Page

You can also add an absence through the absence list page. On the absence listing page, click on “Create New Absence”. Fill out the form and click on save. Whether you create an absence on the listing page or the absence calendar, it will appear on both views.
