Credit Card Setup - Stripe

This article will walk you through establishing your Stripe account in Akada.

Updated over 2 weeks ago

Stripe is a payment processing company that lets merchants worldwide accept credit cards. Onboarding for Stripe can be done within the Akada application in about 10 minutes.

How To Setup Stripe:

  • Scroll down the Akada menu on the left side of your screen until you see the Settings section.

  • Click on the Credit Cards screen.

  • The section at the top of the screen contains information about Stripe and the rates offered.

  • When you're ready, click the Get Started button.

  • We've provided you with a road map of the onboarding process on the resulting screen. You're now ready to start your Stripe application.

  • Once you have submitted your Stripe application and it has been approved, we will notify you via pop-up on the home screen when you log in.

  • Once you've been notified, Click to to Credit Card settings and then click the Turn on Stripe button.

    • NOTE: If you have been processing credit cards through Akada with a different provider, this will disable your current provider. That does not automatically cancel your account with them. You will need to reach out to their customer service to cancel.

  • Lastly, once Stripe is enabled, we will prompt you to email your clients and request that they save or update their credit cards.

Additional Options:

The additional options section of the credit card setup screen allows you to choose which credit card brands you accept and to enter your studio's return policy, which is found at the bottom of your receipts.

Cash Discounts & Credit Card Fees:

Akada gives you the option of either offering a discount on cash payments or including a convenience fee for credit card payments. We highly recommend checking both your Stripe contract and your local laws and regulations before taking either of these steps.
