If you opt to use My Provider's SMTP Settings and are using Gmail, as your email provider, please use the information below for the appropriate settings.
To access the Email Setup page in Akada:
Locate the Settings Menu on your left.
Select Email Setup
Gmail SMTP Settings:
Server Address: smtp.gmail.com
Username: Your Gmail Address (e.g. example@gmail.com)
Password: Your Gmail Password*
Port Number: 465
Email Group Size: 25
Once you have entered the above information you are ready to test your settings. If the email test fails you will want to create an app-password. The app password alerts Gmail that Akada has been granted access to send the emails. If you change your Gmail password you will need to recreate an app-password.
How To Create & use app passwords:
These steps will be completed in your Gmail Account Settings.
Important: To create an app password, you need 2-Step Verification on your Google Account.
Go to your Google Account.
Select Security.
Under "How you sign in to Google," select 2-Step Verification.
At the bottom of the page, select App passwords.
Enter a name that helps you remember where you’ll use the app password.
Select Generate.
Copy the 16-digit app password and go to the email Setup page in Akada Software
Clear the email password and paste the app-password.
Test your email settings.
Save Changes
