Create a Cold Email Template

Instructions

  • Subject lines are key; focus 80% on them, 20% on content

  • Write like a human ( no caps, no marketing speak)

  • Be personal & brief ( use names, test questions, lowercase, misspelling, humor)

  • Raise curiosity (company name, subject line only?)

  • Odd timings (don’t follow the trend)

  • Deliver what you promise

Some Subject lines to try:

  • chat?

  • Kevin suggested we connect

  • quick question

  • quick question John

  • close.io /  close.io + dropbox

  • I know I have sent you a couple of emails already

Content:

  • Be Personal & Brief (no longer than 2 paragraphs)

  • Structure

  • Who is this

  • Why should I keep reading?

  • What is the value for me?

  • Is this credible?

  • What are the next steps?

Sample Email:

Subject: too much data entry

Hey John,

My name is Kevin and I’m reaching out to see if Bluth Company sales team is struggling with too much data entry. Close.io is a CRM that automatically logs all your calls and emails so your reps can spend more time selling.

We’ve recently helped the Dropbox sales team increase sales productivity by 28% and I am hopeful we can do the same for you. Does this in general sound interesting to you?

If so, are you open to hopping on a quick call this Thursday or Friday afternoon?

Cheers,

Kevin Ramani
