Overview
Simply integrate Slack with Along and receive live notifications in selected Slack channels. Directly connect an Alongspace with a specific Slack channel and control notifications around visits, status, members and actions from your Alongspace settings.
Manage Along to Slack connection
Simply go to your → Settings in your account. Click on → Integrations and then → Slack. From here you can connect your Slack account to Along.
⚠️ Important
One Slack account gets connected across your entire team in Along → Make sure the connected Slack account has access to all channels (e.g. an Admin)
Only admin members in your Along team can connect or disconnect the Slack integration
The integration to Slack allows you to connect an Alongspace to a Slack channel, which enables a smooth and seamless integration into your existing workflows
Multiple Alongspaces can be connected to a single Slack channel. But every Alongspace has only one connected Slack channel.
When you disconnect the Slack integration from your team in Along, the channels will no longer be connected and no notification will be sent.
Connect an Alongspace with a Slack channel
A Slack channel can only be connected to an Alongspace when the Slack integration is enabled in the team settings. There are three ways to control the connection of an Alongspace with a Slack channel.
Space creation
You can connect a Slack channel when you create a space by simply activating the dropdown from the Slack field and selecting the channel. When you connect a channel here, you can also control the types of notifications that get triggered instantly into your connected Slack channel.

You can control which Slack channel is connected to the Alongspace from here. When a Slack channel is connected, you also get the chance to control the notification settings for the channel from here.
Space list overview
You can control the Slack channels that are connected to the Alongspaces in your spaces list view. Simply click on the Slack icon to change the Slack channel that you want to connect.
Connect a private Slack channel
When you want to select and connect a private Slack channel, you need to add the “Along app” to the channel by clicking on → Integrations in the channel edit modal from your Slack app.
→ Make sure to reload your open Alongspace in your browser after you added the Along app in your private channel. The Slack channel might take a moment to show up when you open to dropdown.
Control notification settings for a connected channel
You can control the notifications settings from the details sidebar in your edit view of an Alongspace.
Simply hover over the connected Slack channel
Click on the “settings” icon
Select which notifications to trigger from the dropdown

New space member 🔔 When a new member was added to an Alongspace, the connected Slack channel receives a notification.
Updates in the action plan 🔔 When an action is created, completed, assigned or a due date is set and a resource is added in an Alongspace, the connected Slack channel receives a notification.
A new buyer visit 🔔 When a buyer team member visits an Alongspace, the connected Slack channel receives a notification.
A new comment 🔔 When a new comment is given in an Alongspace, the connected Slack channel receives a notification.
