Placeholders allow stakeholder roles that are added before knowing who the stakeholder is and to invite that person later on.

In multi-stakeholder sales or customer success motions, the role of individual contributors is essential. Knowing the roles of each stakeholder ensures success throughout the process.

Oftentimes, the roles are known but the stakeholder filling these roles is not. With Along, you are able to shine light into the darkness of filling those roles more efficiently by managing placeholders in your Alongspaces.

You can inform the buying center what roles need to be filled throughout the process by adding placeholders in the template or Alongspace to make that clear. You can also allow your champion to add those placeholders or collaborate along to create those placeholders together.

Placeholders are only available in the Premium Plan & Full-Suite.

Manage placeholder

Adding placeholders in Alongspaces allows you to manage a specific role before knowing who to invite here specifically. The placeholder can then be assigned to a specific member later on.

Add placeholder

When you “Add members” to your Alongspace, you can click on the “Placeholder member” tab to add a role as a member in your space that you can assign to a specific member later on. A placeholder member is treated like any other space member that you can also assign to actions.

Assign placeholder

When assigning a placeholder, you specifically assign this role to a specific email address that receives a space invitation. The actions this placeholder is assigned to are automatically assigned to the invited new space member now.

Edit placeholder

When editing a placeholder, you can change the name of the placeholder.

Remove placeholder

When removing a placeholder, you are removing this member from the Alongspace entirely.
