🆕 Insight Reports: Smarter, Clearer, and More Flexible
We’ve been working hard to make Insight Reports more intuitive for every type of user. This release brings new report templates, improved widget customization, and a more streamlined creation experience — all designed to give you greater control and visibility over your data.
What’s New?
Quick Transition for Existing Fixed Report
We’ve added a banner message at the top of older fixed reports to remind users to transition to the new report format.
Clicking “Create Report” now takes you directly to the new report creation flow — faster, simpler, and more intuitive.

New and Improved Report Templates
All report templates now start with the “All Account” cost group as their default data source.
Each template includes a unique set of preconfigured widgets, visible right in Preview Mode, so you can quickly see how your report will look and feel.
Templates are designed to match different analysis needs — pick one that fits your workflow.
“Build it from scratch” gives you a blank canvas with no default widgets, offering maximum flexibility to customize your layout and content from the ground up.

Introducing Report Types: Fixed & Flexible
We now support two distinct report types: Fixed and Flexible.
Fixed Reports
All widgets share a single, unified time period — Monthly, Quarterly, or Yearly.
The period is selected when you create the report and cannot be changed later.
Flexible Reports
Each widget can have its own adjustable time range.
Time periods can be changed anytime through widget settings — perfect for dynamic and personalized reporting.
Clearer Report Access & Details
We’ve separated Report Details and Report Access & Permissions into distinct sections. While the underlying logic remains the same, this new layout makes setup simpler and more organized.
Dashboard Widget Preview Enhancements
We've improved the widget preview behavior within dashboards to align with report types and user personas.
Persona-Based Defaults
Each persona automatically loads a unique set of default widgets to match specific reporting needs.
Fixed Reports
The selected reporting period (Monthly, Quarterly, or Yearly) is now clearly shown in the report header during preview.
The selected time period is fixed and cannot be changed after the report is created.

Flexible Reports
Widgets default to Month-to-Date, and each one’s period can be edited independently.
No overall period is shown in the header — because you’re in control.

More Freedom in Layout Customization
In Preview Mode, you can now drag and rearrange widgets to refine your dashboard layout before publishing. It’s smoother, faster, and feels more natural.
Configure Widgets Right in Preview Mode
No need to jump between screens! You can now tweak your widget configurations directly within Preview Mode.
What’s Improved?
Open settings via the kebab menu (⋮) on any widget.
Adjust real-time options under Options and Display tabs.
Data type and visualization type stay locked for consistency, but all other settings are fully customizable.
