How to Set Up Custom References

The Custom References feature allows Admins to add custom fields specific to their business, enabling organization-wide customizations. These fields help capture important details unique to your operations.

Custom References can be set up in several formats, including:

  • Text

  • Multiple Selection

  • Checkbox

  • Date

These references can be applied at different levels across your organization:

  • Load Level

  • Stop Level

  • Load Board Level

Setting Up Custom References

Follow these steps to configure Custom References:

  1. Navigate to Settings

Go to the Settings section under the Management tab.

  2. Select Custom References

In the Settings menu, select Custom References to begin creating your fields.

  3. Name the Reference

We suggest naming your Custom Reference something easily identifiable by the Alvys users in your organization (i.e. Load Locks & Straps Required)

  4. Choose the Field Type

Text, Multiple Selection, Checkbox or Date

  5. Choose the Level

Select where you want your custom references to appear:

    • Load Level: You can create up to 3 custom references. These same 3 references will appear as custom columns on the Load Board.

      • The 3 custom load references you set up at the Load Level will be mirrored as custom reference columns on the Load Board.

    • Stop Level: You can create an unlimited number of custom references for stops.

  6. Save Your Reference

After configuring your custom reference, click Save to apply it.

Managing Custom References

  • Edit or Remove: You can return to the Custom References settings anytime to modify or remove fields.

  • Custom Fields Limitations: For stops, you can create unlimited custom fields. For loads, you can only create up to 3 custom references, which will appear as custom column options on the Load Board.
