Lowe's Marketplace, Lowe's third-party (3P) marketplace, runs on Mirakl. Pattern PXM publishes your approved catalog content to it through a direct API connection: you provide a Mirakl API key and your Shop ID, map a template for each Lowe's category you sell in, and publish whenever your content changes.
Lowe's uses the same PXM steps as other Mirakl marketplaces. This guide covers what's specific to Lowe's.
Before you start
A Lowe's Marketplace seller account and a Master Account user: only a Master Account user on the Lowe's seller portal can generate the API key.
No test environment: Lowe's doesn't offer sellers a sandbox, so every publish goes to the live marketplace. Start with one test product.
1P (vendor) items aren't covered. Lowe's vendor items go through Lowe's own vendor system, not this connection.
Availability: availability can vary by account; check with your Pattern CSM before you start.
Your role: setting up channels and templates and publishing need the Admin or Super Admin role. What other roles can do depends on how your account's permissions are set up. See User Roles and Permissions in Pattern PXM.
Only approved values are sent. Draft values don't publish until they're approved, and approving a value doesn't publish it. Someone still has to publish it to the channel.
Only mapped, selected fields are sent. A field reaches the channel only when it's mapped on the channel's template and selected in the job.
What PXM sends and what stays with you
Product (catalog) data, sent from PXM: title, brand, description, category attributes, images, identifiers and variants.
Offer data: price, quantity, condition and lead time are offer data. Ask your Pattern CSM how offer data is handled for your Lowe's account.
Managed in the Lowe's seller portal: product videos, reviews and ratings, orders and returns.
The category is the template. A product's Lowe's category decides which attributes apply and which are required. Put each product in the right category and map that category's template.
Step 1: Get your API key and Shop ID
Sign in to the Lowe's seller portal as a Master Account user.
Open your account menu (top right) and find the API key section. If you can't find it, ask your Pattern CSM.
Generate a key if there isn't one yet, or copy the existing key.
Note your numeric Shop ID. You'll find it in the portal's shop settings.
Keep the existing key if it's in use. Regenerating a key cancels the old one and stops any live connection that uses it.
Keep your API key private. Treat it like a password. Share it only through the secure method your Pattern CSM provides, and never paste it into email, chat, support tickets, documents, product fields or templates.
Step 2: Add the connection in Pattern Connect
Work with your Pattern CSM on this step. If you don't have Pattern Connect access, Pattern adds the connection with the values from Step 1.
Go to connect.pattern.com, sign in with your Pattern PXM login, click Add new connection and choose Lowe's.
Enter a clear connection name, for example "Brand — Lowe's US", then your API Key and your Shop ID.
Set Marketplace Environment to Production.
Leave Customer Support API Key blank; it isn't needed for content. Pattern fills in any other connection fields it needs.
Click Connect. Pattern Connect checks the key with Lowe's.
Confirm the connection shows as active.
One shop, one connection. If you run more than one Lowe's shop, each Shop ID needs its own connection.
Step 3: Create the Lowe's channel
In Pattern PXM, open Settings in the left navigation, then go to MARKETPLACES > CHANNELS.
Click CREATE CHANNEL (bottom right).
Under API Channels, choose your Lowe's connection.
Choose a Default Media Stack, then create the channel. A default media stack is required. If you don't have one yet, create it under Settings > Assets > Media Stack Group.
A new channel stays inactive until at least one of its templates is active, and an inactive channel can't be picked when you publish. For more on channels, see Creating a Channel in PXM.
Step 4: Map a template for each Lowe's category
Go to Syndicate > TEMPLATES > API TEMPLATES and filter Channel to your Lowe's channel. If the list is empty, click IMPORT FROM LISTINGS, or click ADD API TEMPLATES and choose the channel. If a category template is still missing, contact your Pattern CSM.
Click EDIT on a template. Fields marked with an asterisk (*) are mandatory, and some fields carry a RECOMMENDED tag.
Click MAP and choose a PXM attribute, a default value or a media stack position for each field.
Map the image fields to media stack positions. Position 1 is the main image.
Click SAVE TO THIS TEMPLATE, or APPLY TO ALL CHANNEL TEMPLATES to copy the mapping pattern to the channel's other templates.
A template stays inactive until every starred (*) field is mapped. For a full walkthrough of the template editor, see Channel & Marketplace Templates in PXM.
Fields most Lowe's products need
Shop SKU: your permanent identifier for the listing. Usually mapped to your PXM SKU.
Category: the Lowe's category, which is also the template.
Title and brand.
GTIN, UPC or EAN: must be valid and registered with GS1, and unique to the product. Check it before your first publish; it can't be changed once the listing is created.
Description: plan for roughly 500 to 4,000 characters, in plain text. Check the category template for its exact rules.
Images: at least 3 images in total, including the main image.
Variant group code: for products that come in variants.
Category attributes: each category adds its own required and conditional fields.
Field rules on Lowe's
Value and unit go together: measurements such as weight, dimensions or voltage need both the number and its unit. Map both and send both every time.
Exact list values: list fields accept only Lowe's exact values. Use Pick List attributes that hold those values.
Multiple values: separate them with a pipe, for example Indoor|Outdoor.
Plain text: send descriptions and bullets as plain text, and map each bullet to its own field.
Categories are fixed: map each product to the closest existing Lowe's category. New categories can't be added.
Images
Lowe's downloads each image from its URL, so every image URL must open in a signed-out browser.
Use JPG or PNG images on a white background, with real product photos.
Add the images in order to your Lowe's media stack. Position 1 is the main image; give each variant its own images.
After publishing, confirm image placement in the Lowe's seller portal.
Variants
Make every variant its own product, with its own shop SKU and its own GTIN.
Give every variant in a group the same variant group code, so Lowe's shows one listing with options.
The attributes that define a variant, such as color, size or finish, are set per category. Check them on the category's template.
Step 5: Test, then roll out
Publish one product first. Lowe's has no sandbox, so your test goes to the live marketplace.
Confirm the job reaches HISTORY, then check the product in the Lowe's seller portal, including its P44 and P47 reports.
Roll out category by category once the test lands.
Publish to Lowe's
In Products, select the products you want to send, then click PUBLISH TO CHANNEL (bottom right).
In Channel*, choose your Lowe's channel.
Complete the publish options: the publish type, the template and the media stack. Use Create for new products. Your Pattern CSM can help you choose the right type for an update.
Select only the fields you're changing, review the content and fix any errors inline.
Submit the job, then follow it under Syndicate > JOBS. Copy the Job ID if you need to contact Pattern.
Keep matching keys stable. The GTIN or UPC, the category and the variant group code tell Lowe's which product it is, so keep them as they are on routine updates.
Every publish is manual. Changes reach Lowe's when someone publishes them.
Track your jobs
Syndicate > JOBS has four tabs: DRAFT, ACTION REQUIRED, IN PROGRESS and HISTORY. Filter Channel to your Lowe's channel.
A finished job means Lowe's received the content. It isn't a live listing until Lowe's accepts the product.
A job is a snapshot of your content and template when it was created. If either changes afterwards, start a new job.
If a job stays IN PROGRESS for more than about 2 hours, contact your Pattern CSM.
Read the Lowe's error reports
PXM shows the job's status, and the Lowe's seller portal holds the reason a product was rejected.
In the seller portal, open the P44 report (non-integrated products). It lists rejected products and the reason for each.
Open the P47 report (transformation errors). It shows field-level problems.
Fix the content in PXM, then publish again.
Common errors and fixes
The connection shows an error in Pattern Connect: the API key or Shop ID is wrong, or the key came from a user who isn't a Master Account user. Have a Master Account user copy the key and confirm the Shop ID.
A live connection stopped working: the API key may have been regenerated. Update the connection in Pattern Connect with the current key.
The channel shows INACTIVE, or can't be picked when you publish: map every starred field on at least one template and save it.
A job failed with no clear reason: check the P44 and P47 reports in the Lowe's seller portal.
A measurement is rejected: its unit field is empty. Map and send the value and unit together.
Description or bullets are garbled or rejected: remove any markup and map each bullet to its own field.
A list field is rejected: use Lowe's exact value, ideally through a Pick List attribute.
Images never appear, with no error: the image URL isn't publicly reachable. Confirm each URL opens in a signed-out browser, then publish again.
The GTIN is rejected: confirm it's valid and registered with GS1.
The wrong UPC is on a live listing: plan to remove and re-create the listing, and confirm the steps with Lowe's first.
A later edit didn't reach Lowe's: approve the value, then start a new job with the field selected.
Still stuck? Contact your Pattern CSM with the Job ID, the Lowe's channel, an example SKU or UPC, the P44 or P47 error and when it happened.
FAQ
Can I test before going live?
Lowe's doesn't offer a sandbox. Publish one test product first and confirm it in the seller portal.
Which fields are required?
It depends on the category. Each category's template shows its starred (*) fields.
Does PXM send price and inventory?
PXM sends catalog content. Ask your Pattern CSM how price, quantity and lead time are handled for your account.
Can I use one connection for two shops?
No. Each Shop ID needs its own connection.
Can I add a video?
Upload product videos in the Lowe's seller portal.
Can I add a new category?
No. Map each product to the closest existing Lowe's category.
Can I fix a wrong GTIN or UPC?
Usually not in place. A fix generally means removing and re-creating the listing, so check identifiers before your first publish.
