Overview
PXM lets you link related products together as a parent and its variants (for example, the same product in different sizes or colors). Once a product has variants attached to it, it's automatically labeled as a Parent — there's no separate setting to toggle.
Variants are managed from the parent product's Relationships tab.
How to Add Variants to a Product
Navigate to the product you want to use as the parent.
Open the Relationships tab.
Make sure you're on the Variants sub-tab.
Click Add A Variant in the bottom-right corner of the screen.
Search through the products in PXM and check the box next to each product you want to add as a variant.
Once you've selected all the products you want to add, click Add A Variant again at the bottom-right corner to confirm.
The selected products are added as variants of the parent product.
Note: You can always come back to this tab later to add more variants — you don't need to add every variant at once.
How to Remove Variants
Go to the parent product's Relationships tab, Variants sub-tab.
Select the variant(s) you want to remove.
Click Remove in the bottom-left corner of the screen.
Note: If you remove all variants from a product, the Parent label is automatically removed from that product as well.
Things to Keep in Mind
A product only carries the Parent label while it has at least one variant attached — adding variants applies the label, and removing all of them clears it automatically.
Variants can be added incrementally over time; there's no need to build out the full set in one session.
Variant products can only be attached to one Parent Product.
