Homeowners expect pros to call quickly - calling your leads within 15 minutes more than doubles your chances of connecting with the homeowner. Waiting to reach out to the homeowner reduces your chances of contacting them first, thus reducing your chance to close the job.

Here are some tips to be successful when contacting homeowners:

Tip #1: Call within 15 minutes.

  • As soon as you are notified of a new lead, quickly call the homeowner.

  • Why? Calling your leads within 15 minutes more than doubles your chances of connecting with the homeowner.

Tip #2: Call back immediately.

  • If the homeowner doesn't answer on the first call, leave a voicemail and call back immediately.

  • Why? Calling a second time could indicate to the homeowner that you are not a spam call - they may be more likely to pick-up the second time you reach out.

Tip # 3: Follow up in multiple ways.

  • Homeowners have different preferences for how they wish to be contacted. If you don't connect on the first call or the immediate follow-up call, be sure to leave a voicemail and send an in-app message, email, or text.

  • Why? A follow-up email between calls increases contact rate by 16%.

Tip #4: Make an additional call the next day.

  • If you didn't reach the homeowner on the initial day they submitted their project, try calling back again the next day.

  • Why? Making a second call increases your chances of connecting with the homeowner by 46%.

Tip #5: Respond quickly if a homeowner contacts you back.

  • If the homeowner calls, texts, emails, or messages you, be sure to respond back quickly.

  • Why? The majority of closed leads are won by the first pro to contact the homeowner.

Tip #6: Download the app and turn on all notifications.

  • You can receive notifications through app alerts, texts, emails and phone calls - choose what works best for you.

  • Why? The Angi app is a fast and easy way to contact a homeowner as soon as the lead comes in.
