When you first register with Anima, you should do so using an email and password. You can then connect your smartcard after you’ve logged in.
Head to Settings → User Settings → Authentication → Link NHS smartcard. Then you can use the smartcard login going forward. If you forget your smartcard, you can still you the email/password login.
