MCA Functionalities
Synthace can support the following transfers with the MCA:
96 Well Plate to 96 Well Plate
SBS-format Reservoir to 96 Well Plate
SBS-format Reservoir to 384 Well Plate
96 Well Plate to 384 Well Plate
384 Well Plate to 384 Well Plate
Synthace only supports full tip loading. A single MCA transfer within a Synthace workflow must use all of the heads tips, and they all must perform the same action (i.e all tips aspirate and dispense the same volume of liquid, all tips are used to mix liquids within each well of a plate, etc.).
Using the MCA in Synthace Workflows
To ensure a transfer within a Synthace uses the MCA, you can define the appropriate tip types within the workflow. For simpler workflows that only use the MCA, go to Workflow Settings.
Select the appropriate tip type from the drop down menu.
This allows you to control the tips that are used for MCA transfers. Synthace will automatically detect situations where the MCA can be used.
NOTE: You can select multiple MCA tip types. Synthace will automatically select the appropriate tip type based on the aliquot volume.
For more complex workflows that use both the FCA and MCA, use liquid policies to define when to initiate usage of the MCA. For more information on using liquid policies with Synthace, click here.
Simulating with the MCA
Depending upon the device configuration, Synthace will mount an MCA adapter if one is required and not already statically mounted. A step in the preview will show this.
Synthace will then show the transfer of the liquids with the MCA.
