Navigate the protocols page

Take a tour around the protocols inventory. Learn about tagging, protocol runs, and simulations.

Updated over 3 weeks ago

This document provides an overview of the protocol management features within the application. Users can navigate, filter, and access both public and personal protocols, as well as manage drafts and protocol runs.

Accessing Protocols

You can access the protocols inventory using the "Protocols" link on the home page.

Protocol Tags

Protocols can be published with tags. The addition of tags to a protocol(s) allows you to group related protocols. Clicking on a tag filters the list of available protocols to show only protocols associated with that tag (e.g., "Protein Purification"). Tags are added to a protocol during the publication process.

Learn more about publishing and tag addition here.

Protocol Visibility

The protocols you publish are grouped into 3 sections

  • Public: These are accessible to all users within the organization.

  • Authored by me: This section will show a list of Protocols authored by an individual. It is important to note that you are not able to view the private protocols of other users in your Synthace environment.

  • Drafts: Draft protocols are protocols that have not yet been published, typically because they are a work in progress. Synthace will auto-save drafts of your protocols as you make edits to them.

Return to your list of draft protocols at any time to resume editing. Once complete, simply publish your workflow; it will then be visible in either the Public or Authored by Me section of the protocols library.

Editing Drafts

Use the menu on the right-hand side of any protocol to access the edit, update, and delete options.

You can return to your drafts at any time to continue editing until they are ready to publish.

Protocol Runs

Within each of the 3 protocol sections, you will find a list of the protocols. Open the dropdown menu for a protocol to find more details about the protocol runs, simulations, and executions created from a given protocol

  • Running Protocols: View runs of protocols that have been created (and are in the process of being filled out), simulated, or executed. Each run is linked to the original protocol that it was created from

Run Information: Clicking on a protocol provides details on the protocol's runs that have been created. These details include versioning information, protocol author, creation date, and more.
