Before you start
Before you start, get in touch with us to obtain:
a link to the SynthaceHub installer; and
the URL of the Synthace environment that your organisation will use.
If your liquid handler is a Hamilton Microlab® STAR™ or STARlet™, you should also obtain:
LAB_ML_STARLiquids.mdb: a database that contains the Synthace liquid classes;
Synthace.zip: an archive that contains the plate types that Synthace have defined; and
Hamilton Configuration Executable.zip: an archive that contains an executable that creates a configuration file.

Set up SynthaceHub
SynthaceHub is the bridge between Synthace and the software that controls your liquid handler (e.g., Freedom EVOware®, VENUS® or TRILUTION® micro). Like that software, you need to set it up on the computer that is physically connected to your liquid handler.
Note: Some of the steps in this process are specific to your organisation and require you to ask us for some details.
Use an admin account to log in to the computer that is physically connected to the liquid handler.
Install the latest version of the .NET Framework (4.8 or higher) runtime on the computer.
Install SynthaceHub on the computer. To learn more, click here.
To open SynthaceHub, double-click the SynthaceHub shortcut on your desktop or start menu.
A tab opens in your default browser. Its address is http://localhost:5001.
Set the environment that your organisation will use. To do this, while SynthaceHub runs, navigate to:
Register your liquid handler to SynthaceHub
Synthace is the software that you use to create, simulate and iterate workflows: sets of instructions for your liquid handler to follow. But before you can do any of that, Synthace needs to know which liquid handler you use.
To tell Synthace which liquid handler you use, you must register your liquid handler to SynthaceHub. To learn more, click here.
Add your accessible devices
In addition to a liquid handler, some workflows require other devices.
Example: An ELISA workflow requires a liquid handler, a plate washer and a plate reader.
If other devices are close to your liquid handler, add them to Synthace.
Tell Synthace how your liquid handler is configured
Before your liquid handler can execute a workflow, Synthace needs to know a few things about how your liquid handler is set up. This includes your deck layout, the types of plate you have, as well as any custom liquid classes you use.
The steps in this process are specific to your liquid handler.
