Clearing recovery information in Fluent Control

Updated over a year ago

Synthace cannot run when a Tecan Fluent is in recovery mode. On the home screen of Fluent Control, if you see an orange cross with the word "recover," this means the Fluent is currently in recovery mode and you must clear it.

Trying to run a Synthace execution while in recovery mode will yield this error: "The execution of the transition failed." Additionally, the Tecan Fluent Device Plug-in will stall on the first direct command line.

Clearing recovery mode on Tecan Fluent

Before running any new executions in Synthace, we have to ensure recovery mode is cleared. Once recovery mode is cleared, you should be able to successfully run executions.

There are a few ways to try to clear recovery mode in Fluent Control, it may require a combination of trial and error to fix:

Method 1

Click on Settings > Configure System > Application Settings. You will see a box where you can check Disable method recovery (see screenshot below). Click Save and restart Fluent Control (if prompted). Once Fluent Control has restarted, if the orange cross is still on the home screen, re-attempt to recover the method and select Abort and the recovery mode should be cleared.

Method 2

Use Touch Tools to clear the method recovery. Watch this YouTube video on how to do so. First, you will need to discard the Recovery Point:

  1. Click on the Method Recovery Symbol in Touch Tools (orange plus)

  2. Press the discard button (bottom left), confirming that you wish to delete the recovery information from the last run.

  3. This should clear the Method Recovery Symbol and allow you to return to Edit mode.

Method 3

Stop the Tecan Fluent driver via Task Manager (CTRL + ALT + DEL). Find TecanFluentDevicePlugin.exe in the Task Manager and click "Stop Task." SynthaceHub will automatically determine that the task has stopped once the process is terminated. If needed, restart SynthaceHub.
