What Is Group Management in the Admin Portal?

Overview of how Business Admins manage Groups (Sites) and Group-level settings in the ANVL Admin Panel.

Written by Jake Landgraf

Answer

Group Management is where System Managers manage Groups and Group-level configuration in the ANVL Admin Portal. These are live, organization-level settings that affect how Groups are structured and how ANVL works across sites.

Use Group Management to view and maintain Group records, reference Group IDs, manage Group Tags and hierarchy metadata, and maintain required Workflow Categories. In organizations that use Work Folders, this is also where Work Folder Categories are managed.

Changes made here apply immediately and can affect:

  • workflow deployment

  • user access

  • reporting

  • integrations

  • bulk user actions

  • supervisor assignments

Because of that, Group Management should be used carefully.

Steps

  1. Open the ANVL Admin Portal.

  2. Select Group Management from the navigation.

  3. Use search, filters, or sorting to locate the Group you want to review.

  4. Open the Group record.

  5. Review or update the needed Group-level settings.

What you can manage

  1. Use search, filters, or sorting to locate Groups.

What you can manage

  • Group records

  • Group IDs

  • Group Tags

  • hierarchy metadata

  • Workflow Categories

  • Work Folder Categories, if your organization uses Work Folders

Important notes

  • These are live edits in the Admin Portal.

  • Changes apply immediately.

  • Verify each change before moving to the next.

  • Avoid bulk updates unless they are truly needed.

  • Republish workflows before deleting any categories that are currently in use.

  • Group changes can affect reporting, workflow availability, user actions, and supervisor relationships.
