Secondary Role: Business Administrator
Learning Focus: Apply
Where: Workflow Editor, ANVL Mobile App, ANVL Manager

🧭 Before You Start
This article assumes:

  • You have published the workflow to a UAT / Demonstration group

  • The group is tagged with groupType = UAT

  • You are testing Strength Score and/or Custom Workflow Scoring

👉 Publishing steps are covered in How to Publish a Workflow (linked separately).

🎯 Why This Matters
Workflow scores must be validated using real submissions. Testing ensures that:

  • Scores calculate correctly

  • Different response paths produce different results

  • Scores align with program intent

Unvalidated scoring often leads to confusion, rework, or loss of trust.

🛠️ Step 1: Confirm the Workflow Is Published to UAT

  1. Open ANVL Manager (insights.anvl.com)

  2. Navigate to Mobilize → Editor

  3. Open the workflow template

  4. Go to the Published tab

  5. Confirm the workflow is published to the Demonstration / UAT group

⚠️ Important
If you just published a new version:

  • Refresh the Editor page to see the latest published version

🛠️ Step 2: Sign In to the Mobile App or Web Workflows

You can test using:

  • ANVL Mobile App, or

  • Web Workflows (workflows.anvl.com)

🔑 Important Login Rule

If you are already signed in:

  • Sign out

  • Sign back in

This is required to see workflows published within the last 24 hours.

🛠️ Step 3: Access the UAT / Demonstration Environment

How you access the workflow depends on your experience mode.

🧩 Work-First Experience

  1. Open your Demonstration / UAT Folder

  2. Click Start Workflow

🧩 Workflow-First Experience

  1. Open Groups

  2. Select the Demonstration / UAT Site

  3. Click Start Workflow

🛠️ Step 4: Start and Complete the Workflow

  1. Select the correct Workflow Category

  2. Choose the workflow you are testing

  3. Complete the workflow using intentional test responses

✅ Best Practice: Test Multiple Scenarios

At minimum, complete:

  • Low-effort / minimum response test

  • High-quality / ideal response test

Optional:

  • Edge cases (e.g., missing photos, short text, skipped checklists)

👉 Use a Workflow Scoring Test Template to plan scenarios

🛠️ Step 5: Review the Score in ANVL Manager

  1. Open ANVL Manager (insights.anvl.com)

  2. Go to the Live Feed

  3. Filter or select the Demonstration / UAT site

  4. Locate the workflow you just completed

  5. Click the workflow to open it

📝 Step 6: Validate the Score

At the top of the workflow summary, review:

  • Strength Score (if enabled)

  • Custom Workflow Score (points and percentage)

Confirm:

  • Scores appear as expected

  • High-quality submissions score higher than low-effort ones

  • Results align with your scoring intent

⚠️ If the Score Is Not What You Expect

Review the following in Editor:

  • maxScore values for scored questions

  • Strength Score parameters and weights

  • Question design (photos, text, checklist behavior)

After making changes:

  • Save

  • Republish

  • Refresh the Editor page

  • Repeat testing

Do not move to production until scores behave as intended.

🧩 Best Practice: Use a Scoring Test Template

We recommend using a simple testing worksheet for each workflow:

Example Test Cases

  • Test Case 1: Minimal responses

  • Test Case 2: Expected “good” completion

  • Test Case 3: Ideal / best-practice completion

Each test should document:

  • Responses given

  • Expected score

  • Actual score

  • Notes or adjustments needed

👉 See Workflow Scoring Test Templates (library link)

🔑 Key Takeaways

  • Always test scoring in a UAT / Demonstration group

  • Sign out and back in to see new workflows

  • Test multiple response scenarios

  • Review scores from the Live Feed

  • Adjust scoring before production release
