How do I add a Nearest Location question to a workflow?

Add GPS look ups to any workflow

Written by Jake Landgraf

The Nearest Location question type shows workers the five closest matches for a location type, such as hospitals, fire stations, or police stations. ANVL finds them using the device’s GPS and Google. The worker picks one, or types in an address manually, and the selection is saved with their workflow as a clickable link on the workflow summary. Field teams get emergency and site information at the point of work without having to search for it.

NOTE: This feature is only available on version 2.281+ of the ANVL mobile app.

Steps:

Before you Begin: Confirm you have access to MobilizeAI in the Manager Dashboard and that you know which workflow and category the question belongs in. Workers must allow location access for the ANVL Mobile App, because the Nearest Location question will not work without it.

Add the question in the Workflow Editor

  1. Log in to the Manager Dashboard at insights.anvl.com and click MobilizeAI.

  2. Open the workflow you want to edit, or create a new draft.

  3. In the Question tab, select the Category the question should appear in (for example, Introduction).

  4. In Type, select Nearest Location.

  5. In the Nearest dropdown, choose what the question should find:

    • Hospital

    • Medical Clinic

    • Fire Station

    • Police

    • Corporate Office

    • Business Center

    • Manufacturer

    • Supplier

    • Address

  6. If you need more than one location, add a separate Nearest Location question for each, such as one for the nearest hospital and one for the nearest fire station.

  7. Save and Publish the workflow.

What workers see in the Mobile App

  1. When a worker reaches the question, ANVL uses their device location to find the 5 nearest matches.

  2. The worker selects the option that applies. If none of the five are right, they can override the results by typing an address in free text.

  3. The selection or manual entry is saved with their workflow.

  4. On the workflow summary screen, the location appears as a clickable link.
