How to Manage Location-Specific Reviews in Applause
Applause offers tools to manage the distribution of Google review requests among your different Google Business Profile (GBP) locations. These tools ensure review requests effectively align with the preferences and geographic location of your customers. Below, we explain how review distribution works within Applause and the options available to manage it.
To set up review distribution effectively, ensure that each Google Business Profile (GBP) location has a unique address and zip code configured in Applause. This setup is essential if setting up Dynamic reviews.
Dynamic Reviews - A Geo-Location Based Review Distribution
Applause can dynamically route review requests to the GBP location closest to the customer. This ensures that customers are directed to the most relevant location based on their physical proximity. This system is ideal for businesses with multiple locations, as it automates the process of aligning customer reviews with the appropriate GBP entry.
To ensure accurate review attribution, each GBP location should have a unique address and zip code configured. Applause uses this data to dynamically route reviews to the most relevant location based on customer proximity. Note: if you have a service area listing, you will manually add an address in that area. This does not change anything that shows up on your GBP, it's only used for internal Applause reasons.
Review Source Prioritization
In addition to geo-based distribution, Applause provides a feature called 'review source prioritization.' This allows administrators to manage the order in which their GBP locations receive reviews. For example, you can set one location to appear first when prompting customers for reviews, ensuring that it receives reviews before others. After customers complete reviews for the priority #1 listing, they can be redirected to leave reviews for other Google listings. They wouldn't be asked to leave a review for more than 1 listing at a time, but we would move to the other ones on the list from any completed jobs later on.
This feature offers some control over the review-seeking process but does not enable the configuration of precise percentage-based splits (e.g., 70% to one location and 30% to another). Instead, it provides an efficient way to guide customers through reviewing multiple locations if desired.
Setting Up Addresses and Zip Codes for Accurate Review Attribution
Add an Address for Each Service-Area Listing: Assign a unique address to each service-area listing in Applause. This address should include a zip code.
Review Attribution Process: When a review request is initiated, Applause will use the zip code from the associated address to attribute the review to the listing closest to the customer.
One Zip Code Per Listing: Only one zip code is required per listing to enable accurate review attribution.
Key Takeaways:
Review requests in Applause are primarily routed based on customer proximity to GBP locations when you have more than 1 listing.
The 'review source prioritization' feature lets you control the order in which customers are prompted to review specific locations but does not allow percentage-based splitting.
