Dynamic Review Feature

How the dynamic review setting works and the proper use cases for toggling it on in Applause

Updated over a month ago

The following setting, when flipped on, can utilize a "dynamic" feature and direct review traffic to multiple GMB listings out of 1 physical Applause location/branch.

Use Case: All of your completed services or your "branch" in your CRM is set-up as a physical location in Dallas. However you have multiple Google listings in the surrounding area of Dallas with a main listing in Dallas, 1 in Ft. Worth, and another in Arlington. You also want to direct traffic to more than one of your Google listings based on the listing that will be closest to the customer's zip code who receives the Applause review request.

The Google listings you want to utilize for this either needs and address with a zip code, or an address that could be manually entered if it does not have an address associated to it in Google Maps.

How to get this set-up:

1.) Navigate to the Applause location/branch you want to turn this on at. This is found from Home>Locations 'click into the location' and then be clicked into the Details page as shown below.

2.) Scroll towards the bottom of this page to find the Public reviews section and then toggle this on.

3.) You will then need to navigate to your Reviews page and into the "Authorizations" section to now finalize the listing you will utilize.

-Click into ALL the "listings'' in this page that you want reviews sent to from your Applause location and ensure that the associated Applause location where you flipped on the dynamic toggle is connected to the Google listings you want to utilize.

-To ensure the dynamic feature will work (since the system is utilizing more than 1 listing) your direct review URL for the locations that you want to utilize must be added in this section, & the listing itself must be flipped on as "Active"

When dynamic doesn't work, how you can manually get it to work:

  • One of the Google listings you want to utilize with this does not have an address tied to it, and it is a "service area" listing. Remember, Dynamic reviews works based on the customer's zip codes when deciding which listing to send them, thus your Google listing must be associated with an address and more importantly, a zip code. If it is a service area listing, then you will see the below option, when clicked into that listing to manually enter an address for this listing.

Another option:

If dynamic doesn't make sense because you don't have an address set-up to your GMB location(s) or you would rather just drive reviews to more than one location, not based on zip code, you can reach out to your Applause point of contact or our support team to talk about the set-up for this.
