Apploi Schedule allows workers to either directly pick up available shifts or apply to shifts and be approved to work. This guide will show you how to set up the ability for workers to apply to shifts, and how you, as a scheduler, can approve and assign those shifts.
Setting Up Apply to Shift Workflow
You can determine which staff can pick up shifts and which must apply. Navigate to the Schedule page of your facility, and click the gear icon for Location Settings next to the facility name:
Select Shift Posting Rules from the menu in the pop-up window. Then update each Worker Type to have your preferred Shift Rules - Accept Shifts or Apply to Shifts:
Click Save once you've made your selections. If you are managing multiple facilities, be sure to update each facility's settings in the same way.
Applying to Shifts in the App
A worker will see the option to Apply for a shift when reviewing their opportunities in the Apploi Schedule App. For any shift they are available to Apply to, they will simply click the Apply button, and Confirm:
Once they have applied to a shift, it will appear as Interested in their app until it has been assigned:

Applying to Shifts via SMS
You can also notify workers about shifts to apply to via SMS. Simply click to Publish on the Schedule page:
Select Open Shifts in the pop-up window, followed by the Next Step button to confirm and Publish:
Workers who have opted in to receive text notifications will receive an SMS prompting them to select "1" to Apply to the relevant shift:
Assigning a Shift to a Worker who has Applied
When it's time to assign a shift to an interested worker, simply select the Open Shift you're focused on and click Assign:
In the pop-up window that appears, any workers who have applied to the shift will have a status of Interested. Simply click Assign to the far right of their name to assign the shift to the applied worker:
