Field Type - ORDER DATE

One of the most important custom fields is our Order Date field. Date Picker Enabled Days - Allows the selection of specific days on which deliveries can be made, helping manage delivery schedules and avoid dates when services might not be available.

Understanding "Is Required" and "Is Visible" in Custom Fields

Is Required:
"Is Required" is a checkbox that decides if a custom field must be filled out by the user. When checked, the field becomes mandatory, meaning users must provide the information. If unchecked, the field is optional, so users can choose whether or not to fill it in.

Is Visible:
Meanwhile, "Is Visible" determines whether the custom field is shown to the user. When checked, the field appears on the screen, prompting users to interact with it. If unchecked, the field is hidden from view, keeping the interface clean and focusing only on essential information.

These settings are crucial for tailoring user experiences in subscription systems, balancing the need for data collection with user convenience and interface clarity.

Viewing Attributes in Shopify and in Appstle

As an example, below is the checkout page of a sample Shopify order with a form field for Delivery Notes set (of field type text) and filled out prior to purchase.

When a purchase is made with these fields filled out, they are stored as attributes in both Shopify and Appstle Subscriptions.

In Shopify, it will be visible in the Orders section. Click on the ID of an order to view the attributes (example is of Delivery Instructions).

In Appstle Subscriptions, it will be visible in the Subscriptions section. Click on the Subscription ID of a customer to be taken to the Merchant Portal.

From the portal, select the 3-dots icon on the far right of the subscription product and select Attributes.

Conclusion

The ability to add and configure custom fields in a subscription management system provides businesses with the flexibility to tailor their services to meet the unique needs of their subscribers. By leveraging these advanced custom fields, companies can enhance the customer experience, gather valuable data, and ultimately drive loyalty and retention.

Custom fields are a powerful tool in the arsenal of subscription management, enabling businesses to go beyond the standard offerings and create a truly personalized and engaging subscriber experience.
