Your Hydropack makes clean water by pulling fresh air into the system. Think of the air filter like the machine’s “nose” — if it gets clogged, it can’t breathe well, and it makes less water. Replacing the air filter regularly keeps your water clean and your system running smoothly.
How Often to Replace the Filter
Most Hydropack models need new air filters every 6–9 months, or whenever your system sends a maintenance alert.
These steps apply to the Hydropack, Hydropack S, and Hydropack X. Quantity of air filters may differ by model, but the process is the same.
What You’ll Need
Allen wrench (most units use hex screws)
Phillips screwdriver or drill (some units use Phillips screws)
Clean, dry towel
New Aquaria air filter
Before You Start
Turn off your Hydropack. This keeps everything safe while you work.
Step-by-Step Instructions
Locate the air filter panel(s) >> You’ll find it on the outside of your Hydropack, a rectangular panel secured with screws.
Remove the screws >> Use your Allen wrench or screwdriver (depending on our model) to loosen and remove the screws holding the panel in place.
Open the panel >> Carefully lift the panel off to reveal the old filter.
Slide out the old filter >> Gently pull it straight out. If it feels stuck, wiggle it lightly, don’t force it.
Clean the inside surfaces >> Use a clean, dry towel to wipe away dust from the panel and surrounding area. This helps the new filter work as efficiently as possible.
Insert the new air filter >> Slide the new filter into the same slot, making sure it sits evenly in place.
Reattach the panel >> Line up the panel, insert the screws, and tighten them securely.
Repeat steps 1-7 for each water production unit >> You only need to do this once for the Hydropack S, but twice for the Hydropack, and four times for the Hydropack X.
Power your Hydropack on >> Once everything is closed and secure, power the unit back on.
What to Expect After Replacement
Airflow improves immediately
Water production may increase if the old filter was clogged
Your system runs more efficiently, protecting its internal components
Troubleshooting
Panel won’t open? Loosen each screw evenly — some panels release only when all screws are partially undone.
Filter won’t slide out? Try gently lifting from the bottom edge and pulling straight back.
