Step 6: Edit your artwork and set your preferences

Updated over a month ago

Final step! Navigate to the Edit artwork screen where you can fine-tune your artwork details and prepare it for your patrons. This is where you’ll set up everything from the title and description to pricing and availability, so let’s dive in.

Title

The title of your artwork is one of the first things your patrons will see, so it’s important to make it engaging and original. A unique and intriguing title can entice patrons to read more about the artwork and explore it further. Take some time to think of a name that captures the essence of the piece.

Description

In the Description field, you can write about your artwork. This is an optional step, but it’s a great opportunity to help your patrons form a personal connection with your work. Sharing the inspiration behind your piece, the techniques used, or your creative process can be very impactful. However, please remember that while NFT projects often bundle services or products with purchases, this should be discussed directly with the patron, not in the description. If any dissatisfaction arises about additional benefits, we won’t be able to assist, which could negatively affect the customer experience.

Price settings

You can adjust the price of your artwork at any time. The currency is set to USDT (Tether), which is pegged to the US dollar but has no official ties to America. Patrons will be able to purchase artworks in their native currency, using payment methods like credit cards (including Amex), debit cards, and ApplePay. However, as the artist, you’ll receive payments in USDT. We recommend converting your prices from GBP (or the country your in) into US Dollars to keep things straightforward.

When it comes time to withdraw USDT (Tether) into your native currency (e.g., GBP), the process is easy. We’ve provided a helpful guide on how to choose the crypto wallet that best suits your needs. Just a reminder: your funds will be available to you immediately, and there are no minimum payout amounts or withdrawal fees.

Our fees

Please keep in mind that we charge a flat 6% fee on each sale, which is automatically deducted. We suggest adding this fee to your sale price to ensure you receive the amount you expect after the deduction.

URL field

For the URL field, we recommend picking something short and easy to spell. You’ll be able to share your entire gallery or specific artworks with patrons. Keep in mind that the title of your artwork will be part of the NFT metadata and published to the blockchain. You should avoid adding any information in the title that you wouldn’t want to appear permanently on the blockchain, as this data is immutable. If you’re curious about how to view blockchain data read: What data gets published to the Blockchain when you buy or sell using Artega.

Meet the Artist settings

If you choose to enable Meet the Artist, you can set how long the patron will have for a meeting to discuss the artwork. If you prefer not to offer a meeting, set this duration to 0.

Availability settings

On the left-hand side of the screen, you can set your availability for the artwork. By default, the standard availability you selected during setup will be used. This is the only option available in the dropdown menu for now, but you can always adjust it later. If you need more flexibility with your schedule, we have an article available on how to set up custom availability patterns.

Limits tab

In the Limits tab, you can set buffer time between meetings. For example, if you’re offering in-person meetings, you might want to add travel time between sessions, while online meetings may only require a brief comfort break.

You can also set minimum notice to manage how much notice a patron needs to give before booking a meeting. This can be really helpful for setting boundaries and managing expectations which is essential for smooth client relations and supporting your mental health.. If you prefer to be 'on-demand' you can receive booking requests at the last minute and set the notice to a short time frame, like 5 minutes. If you prefer to cultivate an air of unavailability and advance bookings work better with your schedule, train your patrons to book out your calendar in advance.

You can also choose your time slot intervals. This is a display option for patrons which determines whether they can book only on the hour, every 5 minutes, or something in between.

Managing your schedule

Remember, there’s no need to get everything perfect from the start. If you’re unsure about what works best for you and your patrons, set something up, and adjust it later if needed. Perfectionism can often slow things down, so it’s more important to start with something simple and tweak it over time as you learn what works best.

We also recommend turning on the Limit future bookings slider. This option prevents patrons from booking meetings too far into the future (like 2 years), giving you more control over your schedule.

Save your work

Once you’ve made all your changes, don’t forget to click the Save button in the top right corner to preserve your edits. You can also preview your artwork or copy the link for easy sharing.

Ready to go!

You’re now ready to sell your first artwork. To make sure everything appears as you expect, we encourage you to check both your Gallery page and individual Artwork page. For peace of mind, you might also want to complete a test booking on your own page to see the process from a patron’s perspective. Alternatively, you can buy one of our limited edition $1 promotional artworks if you’d prefer to test out the system before setting up an account yourself.

To share your gallery with potential patrons, you can get the link by clicking View gallery page in the bottom left corner (on desktop), using the three dots in the Artwork Dashboard, or selecting Copy link to event inside the dashboard. Once you have the link, consider adding it to your link list page, social media, and even hyperlinking it to buttons on your website to make it easier for your audience to find.

Future features

Looking ahead, we’re excited to announce that we’ll soon offer the ability to embed your gallery or individual artworks directly into your website.

As an alpha tester, you’ll also soon receive personal invites that you can share with other artists to help grow our community.
