This guide will walk through Upcart's pricing structure and frequently asked questions related to billing.
Overview of Upcart Billing Policies
The Upcart Cart Drawer app, like other Shopify apps, adheres to Shopify’s billing practices. Charges for the app are triggered in the following scenarios:
When the 14-day free trial ends, and the app remains installed.
During Shopify’s standard billing cycle, even if the app has been uninstalled, if the charge was generated before the uninstallation. It is essential to note that uninstallation after the end of a free trial or before the next Shopify billing cycle doesn’t automatically cancel pending or accrued charges.
Free Trial
Upcart is free to use for the first 14 days. The free trial start date is determined by the date the app was first installed. If you have previously uninstalled Upcart, and are installing the app for a second time, you may have already used your 14-day free trial. After the trial expires, your Shopify store will automatically be charged the subscription fee. To avoid charges, ensure the app is uninstalled before the trial period ends.
Upcart Pricing Structure
Shopify Billing Cycles and Upcart Charges
Charges for Upcart are synchronized with Shopify’s standard billing cycle. This means that even if you uninstall the app, you may still see charges on your Shopify bill for the current billing period if they were generated before you uninstalled the app.
Monthly Flat Price
Upcart pricing is based on your total store orders each month. This means that your bill may increase or decrease based on your order volume each month.
Please Note: Store orders refer to how many total orders you have on your Shopify store each month, not orders that are generated by the app.
Upcart's current pricing structure is as follows:
Monthly orders | Monthly price |
0-200 orders | $29.99/month |
201-500 orders | $34.99/month |
501-1000 orders | $54.99/month |
1001-2000 orders | $89.99/month |
2001-3000 orders | $119.99/month |
3001-5000 orders | $149.99/month |
5001+ orders | $199.99/month |
Upcart Usage Price
Upcart will remain a flat $29.99 USD charge per month if your store has 200 orders or less. If your store exceeds 200 orders in a month, you may see a usage charge based on the amount of added orders.
For example, if you got a $29.99 charge, and a $5 usage charge as well, this would total $34.99. In Accordance with the above table, this means you would have had between 201-500 orders during that month
Good to Know!
Upcart has a $200 USD/month spend limit. This is a limit we placed to help you stay in control of your billing. It’s a built-in safeguard. Once you hit the limit for the billing cycle, Upcart simply stops charging beyond that point.
But don’t worry, you’ll still be able to use the app and keep those upsells rolling. There's no need to raise the limit unless you just want your billing totals to reflect more of the usage.

Frequently Asked Questions
How is the billing period determined?
Charges are prorated for the next 30 days. For example, if a charge is dated on 04/01/2024, it will correspond to the billing period of 04/01/2024 to 05/01/2024. This means that charges are calculated based on your order volume for the previous 30 days. The prorated billing approach allows for a simpler and more affordable billing structure.
Preventing Charges After App Uninstallation
To avoid unexpected charges:
Uninstall the app before the 14-day free trial expires.
Confirm that the app is completely removed from your Shopify account.
Regularly review your Shopify billing statements for pending charges.
How do I get a refund?
Please reach out to us on live chat or email support@upcart.app to request a refund. Please provide details on why you are looking for a refund, and the amount you are requesting to be refunded. Refunds are usually processed after the Shopify bill has been paid and can take 5-7 business days to reflect on your payment method. Alternatively, you can request a billing credit to offset the charge, which will apply to your Shopify Billing section once processed.
Why was I billed after uninstalling?
Shopify will collect app billing charges on the billing cycle for your Shopify subscription. So even though a charge from Upcart may have been sent at an earlier date, it will not be collected until the next Shopify billing cycle. You can learn more here. Misalignments between app billing and Shopify billing cycles may also lead to charges being visible after uninstallation. It’s important to check the dates of charges to understand their origin.
Why was I double charged?
The reason why you're seeing two charges is because of how Upcart's pricing works. You will see a base charge for $29.99 as the flat monthly rate, any additional charges from Upcart are usage charges. Please refer to the table and video above for more information.
