UpCart x Zepto Product Personalizer Integration

Overview

Zepto Product Personalizer is compatible with UpCart, but a few setting adjustments may be needed for optimal performance. This guide covers two common issues—cart redirection and price updates—and how to resolve them.

1: Zepto Redirects to the Cart Page (Not UpCart)

By default, Zepto redirects customers to the cart page instead of displaying the UpCart side cart.

How to Fix It:

  1. Go to Zepto > Settings > Add to Cart Settings

  2. Find the section titled “Action after a product is added to the cart”

  3. Select “Stay on the product page and show a success message”

  4. Save your changes

Sometimes, the product price doesn’t update in UpCart after personalization. This is often due to Zepto using Shadow DOM, which can prevent UpCart from detecting price changes.

How to Fix It:

  1. Go to UpCart Editor > Settings > Advanced Settings

  2. Uncheck the box labeled Shadow DOM

  3. Save your changes

  4. Test thoroughly, as this may impact the behavior of other apps or theme features

⚠️ What’s Shadow DOM?

Shadow DOM is an advanced setting in UpCart that helps UpCart run smoothly by keeping it separate from other code on the page (like your theme or apps). But in some cases, like with Zepto, this "wall" needs to come down so the cart can update prices correctly.
