Getting Started with Astra: Onboarding and Set Up Tutorial

Updated over 3 weeks ago

The onboarding phase is a two-tier process that aims to help users understand Astra's platform, services, and tools.

Welcome to our Astra onboarding tutorial! To ensure a smooth and hassle-free experience, we recommend that you take a few moments to familiarize yourself with our Help Center's extensive resources. We encourage you to read the common questions before onboarding before proceeding with the following steps:

  1. Check your Email and find your exclusive link to create your Astra account.

  1. Access the software and register an Astra Account

  2. If you want to activate or deactivate the marketplace status afterward, you can add or delete a marketplace to your billing plan.

If you choose a paid subscription

Our customer success team will send you an email to let you book an onboarding call. This is the first day of your journey with us! Here are the 2 steps of it :

  1. During the first 30 days: We check your account after 2, 10, and 30 days to ensure everything is going well and you understand how Astra works.

  2. After the 30th day: You will be autonomous but we are still ready to help you. We will still check your account every month, answer your questions and ask for your feedback.

Rules of Thumb when creating your first(s) strategy(ies):

🚀 For Optimizing Established Products (At least 5-10 Ad Orders Per Week)

  • Step 1: Use the ACOS algorithm, setting a target at par or close to the historical ACOS of the ASINs included in your strategy. You can use average ACOS of your campaign(s) in the last 30 days or whatever time frame you feel is most representative. You can find out the historical ACOS of your desired ASINs in Product Analysis tab.

  • Step 2: As you build momentum, gradually adjust your ACOS target by 2-5% every 4 to 7 days until you get to your desired target.

🚀 For Boosting Slow-Moving & Newly Launched Products

  • Step 1: Use the Constant Bid Algorithm, starting with a competitive average bid.

  • Step 2: Adjust the average bid until engagement/performance improves. Once you reach 5-10 ad sales per week, switch to the ACOS or Monthly Budget Algorithm.

Pro Tip: Make sure to pause any existing campaigns in your ad manager that may conflict with Astra’s campaigns.

Seeding Initial Keywords and Competitors ASINs to Speed Up Astra’s Learning (Optional but Recommended): Give Astra a head start by adding a seed list of initial keywords and/or competitor ASINs to guide targeting.

Here's how:

  • Open the sidebar and click “Catalog”

  • Locate the Seed column

  • In the corresponding row for your ASIN, input your keyword list or competitor ASINs
