🎯 Creating a Sponsored Product Strategy in Astra
Sponsored Product Ads are the most powerful and widely used ad type on Amazon, appearing on search results pages (SERPs) and relevant product detail pages. These ads drive sales, boost visibility, and help grow organic rank — making them an essential part of any Amazon advertising strategy.
With Astra, creating a Sponsored Product Strategy is easy and ensures that all your ad management tasks — from keyword targeting to bid optimization — are handled automatically.
Before creating your first sponsored product strategy, read our recommendations for a successful start!
For each sponsored product strategy, the algorithm generates a minimum of four campaigns that correspond to the associated product group.
The algorithm automatically generates a sponsored strategy named "All Products" by default. You can ignore it and create your own strategy from new.
You can compare metrics through the stats section and check all the modifications made to the strategy through the activity section
How to create a sponsored product strategy?
Go to Strategies -> Sponsored product and click on " Create a new strategy ".
⚙️ Step 1: Name Your Strategy
Start by giving your strategy a clear, descriptive name.
If you’re focusing on a single product, name the strategy after that product (e.g., “Shoe Cleaner Kit Strategy”).
If you’re grouping multiple ASINs within the same category or product line, choose a name that reflects that category (e.g., “Men’s Grooming Products Strategy”).
⚡️ Step 2: Choose Your Algorithm Mode
Next, select the algorithm mode that best aligns with your business goal. Astra offers three powerful algorithm types, each designed to optimize your campaigns for different objectives: ACOS Target Optimization , Force Product Visibility, or Monthly Budget Management target.
🛒 Step 3: Select Your ASINs
After selecting your algorithm mode, it’s time to choose the ASINs you want to advertise. You can:
Add ASINs Individually: Select them from the catalog section.
Add in Bulk: If you have a list of ASINs copied to your clipboard, you can paste them directly into Astra. Just ensure that each ASIN is listed on a separate line.
Use a Product Group: Quickly add multiple products by selecting a previously created product group.
🚀 Step 4: Create Your Strategy
Once you’ve selected your ASINs, simply hit “Create Strategy” — and Astra will take over from there!
The system automatically creates and optimizes 1–4 campaigns per strategy depending on the settings and selected algorithm. You’re now ready to launch a high-performing Sponsored Product Strategy!
📝 Review: Which Algorithm is Right for You?
Here’s a quick recap to help you choose the best algorithm for your business goals:
🟢 Constant Fixed Bid Algorithm
Best for: New products or ASINs with fewer than 7 weekly sales.
Goal: Gather initial data for Astra to optimize later.
How It Works: Set a slightly higher bid than the category average, and adjust as needed for adequate engagement. Switch to the ACOS or Monthly Budget algorithms after 7+ ad sales.
🟡 Monthly Budget Algorithm
Best for: Scaling existing products with at least 7 weekly ad sales.
Goal: Increase sales volume while maintaining a defined monthly budget.
How It Works: The algorithm balances ACOS and sales volume but only optimizes these factors if you’re on track to meet your monthly budget goal.
🔴 ACOS Target Algorithm
Best for: Products with consistent sales (at-least 7 ad sales a week) where profitability and efficiency is the primary focus.
Goal: Optimize toward a specific ACOS target over time.
How It Works: Set a target at par or close to the historical ACOS of the ASINs included in your strategy. Gradually adjust your ACOS target by 2-5% every 4 to 7 days until you get to your desired target.
⚡️ Important Notes:
Astra Syncs with Historical Data: Even if you’ve never used Astra before, it will automatically sync with your previous campaign data. This means you can skip the Constant Bid Algorithm and jump straight to the ACOS Target or Monthly Budget Algorithm if your product already has a sales history.
Pause Manual Campaigns: After creating Astra strategies, pause any existing manual campaigns targeting the same ASINs. Running both Astra and manual campaigns simultaneously can create conflicts and reduce optimization efficiency.
