Welcome to our guide on using AutoPylot's airspace maps! Learn how to search locations and harness the full potential of our features for safe and effective drone operations. Let's get started.
Accessing Airspace Map
Navigate to the apps menu by clicking on the top-left hamburger icon.
From the menu, select "Map."
Search by entering an address
The first way to search for a location is by entering an address into the search field titled "Where do you want to fly?"
Start by tapping the search box so a keyboard appears,
Then, begin typing the address of the location where you intend to fly.
In addition to address, you can search by landmarks, parks, and points of interest.
Search by zooming/panning and dropping a pin
If you don't know the exact address of the location you want to fly, you browse the map and simply drop a pin by tapping the screen.
To zoom in or out on the map, simply pinch the in, or out on the map
To pan the map, drag your finger on the screen in the direction you would like to move the map
Once you have found your desired flight location, tap on the screen to drop a pin and begin flight planning
Once a pin is dropped, users can still zoom in and out, as well as drag the their finger on the screen to adjust the flight boundary.
Center the map on your current location
If you are currently at the address you would like to operate from, or want to orientate the map to your current location you can easily do so by tapping on the "Crosshairs" icon in the bottom right of the map
Please note: If tapping the center map button does not work, or centers the map to the wrong location, you may need to adjust the app locations permission from your phones settings. For more on how to do this, see this article!
