Updated over a year ago

Store your common Points of Measure in the Point of Measure Library to quickly build consistent Size Specs and Blocks.

Navigating the Point of Measure Library

  • You access the POM Library by clicking its dedicated icon in the Global Navigation

  • Search for a specific POM by Name or Code at the top of the page

  • Toggle between Card View and List View as needed

    • Card View displays a large thumbnail image, Name and Code for every POM

    • List View displays a small thumbnail image, Name, Code, the POM Creator and Last Modified date

  • Sort your POM Library by POM Name, Code, or Date Modified

  • Open any POM by clicking its thumbnail Image

Creating a New Point of Measure

  • Start by clicking the Add New Icon at bottom right corner of the page, opening the Create POM pop-up modal

  • POMs in your POM Library work as templates rather than as linked objects. This means that all POM attributes may be edited from within a Product Size Spec or Block without impacting POM Library Record or any other Specs or Blocks using that POM.

  • Assign a Name and Code for your POM

    • Name is required before you can save

    • If you don’t assign a Code, Backbone auto-assigns a system generated one

  • The balance attributes are all optional and can be overwritten at the Spec or Block level - use them if they are helpful! If they are unnecessary for your business and you choose to leave them blank, you can always hide the fields from view on your Product Size Specs and Blocks.

    • Use the Mark as Critical checkbox to allow quick filtering to priority POM's during QA processes down the line

    • Add a starting Tolerance value (specifying the correct Unit of Measure)

      • When adding this POM to any Product Size Specs or Blocks, this Tolerance will be will be automatically inherited

    • Indicate whether POM is taken as a Full (circumference) measurement or a Half (flat) measurement with the Measurement Type field

    • Add further notes on how to measure the POM in the How to Measure field

    • Upload an Image representing the POM

      • POM images can be included in or excluded from Tech Packs down the line

      • You can add annotations to your POM images after uploading if you like

  • Select the Create Another checkbox to speed up the process of creating many POM's in a row if you like

  • Click Add and your POM will save to the Library and be available for use on Blocks and Specs

Managing POM's within the POM Library

  • Additional actions are available within the POM Detail Library by accessing the Overflow menus

    • In Card View, you open this menu by hovering over a POM Card and clicking the 3-dot Overflow Icon which appears at the top right

    • In List View, you open this menu by clicking the 3-dot Overflow Icon on the far right side of the POM Row

  • Overflow menu actions:
