Customer Information Forms (previously known as Checkout prompts) on Baluu allow you to find out more information about your customers before they check out.

  • These questions can be required fields for customers during checkout.

  • Try to ask concise questions that will help your event run smoothly on the day.

  • Try not to add too many, as a lengthy checkout process can harm conversion.

You can find these under 'Services', then 'Listings'.

Click 'Manage' on the event you want to add a questions to.

Click 'Collect Customer Information' on the event you want to add a questions to.

You can now turn on your Customer Information Form and start adding questions.

You can currently add either short text, number input or single select questions.

Short text / number input questions:

These are simple questions that allow you to get small pieces of information from your customers, either text or numerical. You can choose if these are required or not and you can also choose the logic for what happens when the customer clicks next:

Single select questions:

These are questions that allow a customer to select the answer from a dropdown, created by you. You can then choose for the customer to move onto a specific question or end the form, depending on their answer! You start by selecting Single Select and adding the main question, then click Next step:

Then, you add in the options and click save.

Changing Question Order If you want to reorder your questions:

  1. Click 'Edit' on the question you want to move.

  2. Use the 'Increase Order' or 'Decrease Order' option to shift its position.

Logic depending on question or answer!

You can choose what happens to the customer after each question, or even depending on the answer they select. HOWEVER you must first create all your questions and their options, and then go back in to choose how you want the customer to be directed. Until you have created all the questions and options, you will not be able to select the correct questions from the dropdown list.

What is display options?

Ah, another piece of the puzzle. This allows you to either show all questions in one go, or one after the other. In general, if you have no logic built into your questions, we recommend having them set to Show all questions together. However, if you have any logic in your customer information form, you will have to select Show questions one at a time, as they are completed for it to work effectively.

Once you are happy with your questions, click 'Save Changes'.

Here is how they'll look on your site:

They appear during the checkout process.

How to find customer answers:

1. Go to the "Timetable" section.
2. Select the time of the event in your timetable for which you want to collect customer information.
3. Scroll down to the section above your customer list.
4. Select "Export customer and guest list CSV" to download the information, including their answers to questions.
