How do I set up speed dial for internal call transfers on a Yealink T54W?

Assign a side button on your Yealink T54W to a phone extension so you can transfer calls with one press. You can do this directly on the physical phone or through the phone's web admin console.

Who this is for: Any staff member using a Yealink T54W registered with Barti VoIP.

Before you start, you'll need:

Option A — Set up speed dial from the physical phone

  1. Long-press any side button for 5 seconds until the configuration screen appears.

  2. Use the arrow keys to find and set Type to SpeedDial.

  3. Leave Account ID set to Auto.

  4. Enter a Label for the destination phone (e.g., "Front Desk", "Exam Room 1", "Back Office").

  5. Enter the phone's extension number in the Value field.

  6. Save the entry.

Repeat for each phone you want to assign to a side button.

Option B — Set up speed dial from the web admin console

  1. Log into the phone's web interface by entering its IP address in your browser. (Press OK on the phone to find the IP address.)

  2. Navigate to Dsskey → Line Key.

  3. Find the line key you want to configure and set the following fields:

    • Type: Speed Dial

    • Value: Extension number of the destination phone

    • Label: Name of the destination phone (e.g., "Front Desk")

    • Line: Auto

  4. Click Confirm to save.

Repeat for each phone you want to assign to a line key.

The Yealink T54W web admin console Dsskey → Line Key page, showing a table of Line Keys 1–9 with columns for Key, Type, Value, Label, Line, and Extension. Line Key 6 is highlighted with a red rectangle and configured as a speed dial: Type is set to SpeedDial, Value is 11, Label is "front", and Line is set to Auto. All other line keys are set to Type: Line with Default values.

What you'll see when it works

The label you assigned (e.g., "Front Desk") appears on the side button of the phone. During an active call, press that button to transfer the call directly to that extension without dialing manually.

Troubleshooting

The speed dial button isn't transferring to the right phone.

Confirm the Value you entered matches the extension number assigned to that phone in Barti (Organization Settings → Communications). If the numbers don't match, repeat the steps above to correct the value.

I don't have any side buttons available.

Each side button can only hold one assignment. If all buttons are in use, you can reassign an existing button using the steps above, or use the directory contacts method instead — see How do I transfer a call between VoIP phones in Barti?.
