What happens to my TriZetto Site ID when I switch billing platforms?

When you switch to a new billing platform or RCM vendor, TriZetto requires a new Site ID. Your old Site ID will eventually be closed, and access to historical data stored there — including past EOBs and ERA files — will no longer be available.

Who this is for: Any Barti practice transitioning from a previous practice management system or RCM vendor.

Why a new Site ID is required

Payers and clearinghouses — including TriZetto — require a new Site ID whenever you change billing software or RCM vendors. This is a standard industry requirement. Your previous Site ID cannot remain active indefinitely once the transition is complete.

What happens to your old Site ID

Once your old TriZetto site is closed:

  • You will no longer have access to that Site ID in TriZetto.

  • Historical data stored under the old site — including EOBs, ERA files, payment reports, and prior claim submission history — becomes unavailable.

  • Whether the old site stays open temporarily depends entirely on your previous software vendor. This is outside Barti's control.

Barti strongly recommends confirming the closure timeline directly with your prior vendor before transitioning.

What data you may lose access to

If you don't save the following before your old site closes, you may lose access to it permanently:

  • Historical EOBs and remittance advice

  • Prior claim submission history

  • Payment reports

  • ERA files and reconciliation data

  • Portal-only payer notes tied to the old Site ID

What to do before your old site closes

  1. Download and save your historical EOBs, payment reports, and outstanding AR reports from the old site.

  2. Confirm with your previous software vendor when the site will be closed and whether temporary extended access is possible.

  3. Share any critical historical documentation with the Barti team if needed for your transition.

Will Barti migrate my historical EOBs to the new Site ID?

No. Historical EOB data must be saved and exported by your practice from the old system before the site closes. Not all payers allow full historical migration, and Barti cannot access data stored under a third-party Site ID.

Once your transition is complete, all new claim activity will be fully accessible and managed under your new Barti Site ID.

Can the old TriZetto site stay open indefinitely?

Possibly — but this depends on your previous software vendor, their licensing arrangements, and payer and clearinghouse policies. Reach out directly to your prior vendor to understand their data retention procedures.

Troubleshooting

I didn't save my EOBs before the old site closed. Can I still access them?

Unfortunately, no. Once the old site is closed, historical data cannot be recovered. The only way to retain access is to request read only status on the old site before it closes — this must be requested at the time of account closure. If you didn't request this and the site is already closed, the data is no longer accessible. Contact your prior vendor to confirm the site's current status.

Why doesn't Barti need access to my old EOBs after the transition?

Before transitioning, all open AR balances and patient responsibility amounts are validated. Going forward, all claims and payments are tracked under the new Site ID. Historical EOBs are rarely needed once existing balances are resolved and posted. For compliance or recordkeeping purposes, Barti recommends saving key EOBs and requesting read only status before the old site closes.
