Plans that cannot be submitted through TriZetto
VSP claims must be submitted through the VSP portal directly. Most vision-only plans are filed on payer portals rather than through a clearinghouse.
If you have EyeMed or Spectera access in addition to VSP, share your credentials with the Barti team — those plans can be used alongside your TriZetto setup.
For plans that don't have a payer ID, your biller will need to submit directly to the required payer portal.
Finding the right payer ID
The payer ID is typically printed on the back of the patient's insurance card. If it's not on the card, check the insurance portal or contact the plan directly.
Important: Using the wrong payer ID means the claim will not reach the correct payer. The payer ID functions as the claim's mailing address. If you submitted a claim with an incorrect payer ID, see Why was my claim rejected? for steps to correct and resubmit.
Troubleshooting
My plan isn't on this list. Can I still submit through TriZetto?
TriZetto supports a broad range of payers beyond the vision-specific plans listed above. If your plan isn't listed here, search for it by payer ID in TriZetto, or call TriZetto support at 800-556-2231 to confirm whether electronic submission is available.
I submitted an EyeMed or Spectera claim but it isn't going through.
Confirm your credentials for those plans have been shared with the Barti team. If credentials are on file and claims still aren't processing, contact rcm@barti.com.
What about Medicare and Medicaid?
Medicare and Medicaid medical claims can be submitted through TriZetto. For best practice when a patient has both Medicare and VSP coverage, bill Medicare in Barti first, then coordinate the remaining balance to VSP through the VSP portal.
