How do I open a single day for online appointment scheduling?

To open a specific one-off day for online scheduling, first set recurring availability for that day of the week, then create a recurring block that covers every instance of it, and finally delete the block for the one date you want open.

Who this is for: Any Barti user who manages online scheduling availability.

Before you start, you'll need:

  • A Barti account with online scheduling enabled

  • The specific date you want to open for patients to book online

How this works

Barti's online scheduling availability is set by day of the week — not by individual dates. To open just one specific date, you'll use a three-step workaround:

  1. Add availability for that day of the week (e.g., every Saturday).

  2. Create a recurring block that covers every instance of that day — effectively closing them all.

  3. Delete the block for the one date you want open.

Steps

Step 1: Set availability for that day of the week

  1. From the Homepage, go to Appointments.

  2. Click Availability.

  3. Select the day of the week you want to open (e.g., Saturday) and set your hours (e.g., 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM).

  4. Configure your slot settings — toggle Allow consecutive slots and choose Internal, External, or both as appropriate.

  5. Set your appointment duration (e.g., 30 minutes).

  6. Click Save.

To confirm it worked, open your public booking link and verify that day of the week now shows as available.

Step 2: Block every recurring instance of that day

  1. Go to your calendar and create a new recurring block.

  2. Select the first upcoming instance of that day of the week (e.g., the first Saturday).

  3. Set the block start time and duration to cover your full availability window (e.g., 9:00 AM, 600 minutes).

  4. Set it to repeat weekly.

  5. Save the recurring block.

To confirm it worked, check your availability again — that day of the week should no longer show as open for online booking.

Step 3: Delete the block for the specific date you want open

  1. On your calendar, find the recurring block for the specific date you want to open (e.g., March 21st).

  2. Click the three-dot menu on that block.

  3. Select Delete event.

  4. When prompted, choose Delete this event only — do not delete all events in the series.

To confirm it worked, check your public booking link and verify that the specific date now shows as available for patients to schedule.

What you'll see when it works

Your public booking link shows the specific date open for scheduling while all other instances of that day of the week remain blocked.

Troubleshooting

All instances of that day are open, not just the one I wanted.

You may have deleted the entire recurring block series instead of a single event. When deleting, make sure to select Delete this event only. If all instances were removed, recreate the recurring block (Step 2) and try again.

The day of the week isn't appearing on my public booking link at all.

Make sure you completed Step 1 and saved your availability. If availability is set but the day still isn't appearing, confirm your public booking link is active under Availability settings.
